triquetra - NKJV paganism

I remember the NKJB putting this symbol very large on the front cover of their Bible. Later, it decreased in size. Then, they moved it to one of the first pages. When I first saw this, I wondered what a symbol that I always saw being used by Wiccan and New Age groups was on a cover of a Bible.

Years later, I learned of the pagan origins of this symbol, called a "Triquetra." You will see it used in Wiccan literature. The Book of Shadows refers to it often.

In ancient Ireland, it was related to the Morrigan. "Mor" meaning "Great" or "phantom" and "rigan" meaning "queen." The Morrigan was a triple goddess comprised of "Badb," depicted as a crow that warns of looming battles and scared soldiers, "Macha," a war goddess associated with decapitated heads, and "Nemain," who spreads confusion and terror in battles. These three entities were often considered as sisters, though other cultures looked to them as a mother and her two daughters.

The earliest reference to this false trinity dates back to 750 B.C. when it was first written down, but it is widely believed that stories of this mythology was shared orally for many generations previously. In fact, I believe that it's origins can be traced back to ancient Babylom and the worship of Nimrod, his wife Simeramis, and their son who was declared by Simeramis to be the reincarnation of her husband, Nimrod, who had died a violent death by being pulled apart by horses. His executioner is believed to be none other than Shem, Noah's son, who refused to follow after Nimrod's attempts to draw him away from God to follow after him.

After Nimrod's death, and their son's birth, it is said that Simeramis began the ancient cult of the mother and child and gave birth to the practice of witchcraft, sorcery, and occultic practices.

After the confusion of languages at the Tower of Babel, those who were scattered abroad took with them their false religion, centered on this cult. As the years went by, each generation would adapt this cultic religion to their own cultures. In Europe, for example, it took on various forms of this false trinity which bares remarkable similarities to other world religions, like that found in Asia and Africa.

As the Roman Catholic Church would conquer various cultures around the known world of their day, they would also absorb their various pagan religions, practices, and symbols, Christianizing them to make assimilation easier. This is why when you view the various RCC groups around the world, they often have forms, rituals, and traditions that are somewhat different from one another. Among the symbols and traditions that they Christianized was the Triquetra. The true Church of the Apostolic era never used this kind of symbol. Certainly, neither did the ancient, God-fearing Jews.

The fact that the creators of the NKJB would use this symbol in association with their product is a reflection of their lack of spiritual discernment. Besides the fact that they did FAR more than just update the language of the KJB (something they said was their purpose), this is yet another reason to stay away from it. The NKJB cannot and should not be trusted! STICK WITH THE KJB; IT WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!

Your insights into the history of this Celtic mobius are extremely shortsighted. It is indeed a pagan occult symbol that originally came out of Babylon, then it was adopted by false pagan religions in the far East, and then later adopted by Northern Europeans. Without question... (it is) and Satanic pagan religious symbol, period end of discussion. The Babylonians created the 3 sided mobius as a fertility symbol connected with nature, today it is called Gaia worship. This symbol was then adopted by later cultures as a symbol for worshiping nature.... the Bible gives us clear warning about this.... That they shall worship the created, rather than the Creator. So Scott, to make claims that the occult 3 sided pagan fertility mobius is somehow connected with true Christianity and simply an innocent harmless symbol, is totally and completely inaccurate!... Scott, can I ask you a question, do you dare think that the Jewish scribes from Aaron's lineage would ever DARE put that false pagan Gaia worshiping symbol on the scrolls of the Torah.... Scott, I can unequivocally promise you the Jewish scribes that were responsible for making copies of the Torah, would NEVER!!! EVER!!! put that pagan symbol on Old Testament Torah scrolls... Scott you speak utter foolishness, in regards to where the 3 sided mobius originated from, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with True Christianity. In this regard Gail Riplinger is absolutely correct it is 100% Satanic!!!...
